Innovative AI & Ecology Training for the Audiovisual Sector

Film Spring Open has, for several years, been developing interdisciplinary educational programmes at a European scale, under the supervision of Sławomir Idziak, cinematographer on more than 70 international films (Three Colours: Blue, Gattaca, Black Hawk Down, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, etc.).

This free training programme, funded by the European Union, aims to bring artificial intelligence into the audiovisual sector through an innovative, modular teaching format, delivered via the Cinébus mobile training centre. It supports the industry’s technological changes by providing concrete skills in AI applied to audiovisual production, while encouraging more ecological creative practices.

This programme includes

  • Two online courses, in Polish and French, preparing participants for hands-on activities.
  • Two hands-on courses in the eco-friendly Cinébus, in Poland and France, for graduates of art and technical schools, young creators considering a career in audiovisual, technicians, programmers, producers, screenwriters, editors, animators, sound designers, VR/AR/VFX specialists, and anyone retraining towards AI-assisted audiovisual work.

Schedule

  1. Online courses and individual consultations — from April to June 2026, 8 sessions of 6 hours (Sundays 12/19/26 April, 03/10/17 May and 07/14 June). 30 participants.
  2. Hands-on courses in the Cinébus and individual consultations — from 14 to 23 August 2026 at the Espace Jeunesse in Cabestany. 15 participants.

Film Spring Open Workshop in Kraków

The best participants selected from the online courses and mobile training will be invited to take part in the 21st Film Spring Open Workshop in Kraków, with registration fees waived.

The Film Spring Open Workshop is an award-winning, interdisciplinary, international workshop, one of the largest in Europe (300 to 350 participants), focused on the future of audiovisual. It will run from 13 to 22 October 2026 in Kraków.

This filmmaking festival enables hands-on learning using the best audiovisual equipment available on the market. Split into dedicated groups covering every branch of audiovisual, with a particular focus on the role of AI, participants carry out their projects under the supervision of renowned artists, including Oscar winners. The state-of-the-art cameras, lighting and IT equipment needed are provided by 52 partner companies.
